Wellingborough Redwell Walking Football Club has received sponsorship from the developers behind Glenvale Park. The club sponsorship of over £1,000 includes new kit and outdoor jackets, making sure the team stands out at matches.
Glenvale Park LLP is also facilitating the use of the development’s multi-use games area for the team club to hold beginners’ sessions, helping to involve more members of the local community.
Patrick Curtis, Chairman of Wellingborough Redwell Walking Football Club, commented: “We’re really pleased to have Glenvale Park as our sponsor – with the development being a large new part of the local community, we’re looking forward to recruiting new members from among the residents and making use of the facilities onsite.
“Walking football is an accessible way for over 50s to get involved in a sport, get outside, get fitter, improve mental health, and build new friendships whilst taking things at their own pace. The team club is hugely important to everyone that’s a part of it and it’s great to have Glenvale Park supporting us.”
Wellingborough Redwell Walking Football Club currently has over 40 members and plays every Thursday all year round at Redwell Leisure Centre, whatever the weather.
