First look at new houses on offer at Wellingborough North’s Glenvale Park

A glimpse of Wellingborough’s newest housing development has been revealed through artist’s impressions on how the community will look.

Barratt Homes, Taylor Wimpey, Keepmoat Homes and Lagan Homes will all build homes on Glenvale Park, the land north of Niort Way and west of the A509 Harrowden Road. Initial plans from Barratt Homes Northampton promise ‘199 stunning new properties’ whilst Taylor Wimpey has been granted approval from Wellingborough Council for a residential development of 261 homes, of which 26 are affordable homes.

The development has promised to deliver a ‘good mix of both private market and affordable housing’ with homes ranging from one-bedroom to five-bedroom properties, including apartments, terraced, semi-detached and detached designs. Two schools, shops and a business park have been planned with almost half of the site designated as open space providing a mix of mature existing woodland, wildflower meadows, grassland areas and open space including family play areas. All of the open space has been ‘strategically planned and linked throughout’ by an extensive network of cycle and pedestrian routes.
