About Rebecca & HME

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role at HME?

I’m Rebecca Skelton, Estate Manager at HME Home Management Excellence. I oversee the day-to-day operations at Glenvale Park, ensuring the estate runs smoothly and looks its best.

What drew you to working in estate management and what do you enjoy most about it?

I’ve always been drawn to roles that combine operational detail with community impact. Estate management allows me to make a real difference in people’s living environments. No two days are the same! I enjoy the variety most about the role and the opportunity to build relationships with residents.

For those who may not know, what is HME and what role do you play at Glenvale Park?

HME is a facility services company experienced in estate management. At Glenvale Park, we handle estate charges, maintenance and communications with residents. Since replacing the previous agent in May 2023, we’ve focused on improving transparency and service quality.

HME at Glenvale Park

How does HME support residents in making Glenvale Park feel like a thriving community?

We support community events, maintain communal areas and collaborate with the Residents Association. Our main goal is to build a sense of belonging to ensure residents feel settled, heard and supported.

What does a typical day look like for you as part of the estate team?

A typical day involves coordinating with contractors and upholding high standards of health and safety across the estate, responding to resident queries, reviewing estate charge accounts and planning for upcoming events or inspections.

How does HME work with residents to address their needs and feedback?

We maintain open lines of communication through email, regular meetings and drop-in sessions. Feedback is taken seriously; whether we’re contacted about maintenance, billing or community activities, we’ll always try to work as quickly as we can to resolve issues.

The Future of the Community

How can residents get involved in shaping their community alongside HME?

We’d love to get more residents involved. Those who want to help shape their local community can join the Residents Association, attend focus groups or get involved in community events.

Rebecca’s tips

What’s your favourite thing about Glenvale Park so far?

As the development has come forward, it has to be the growing spirit of a new community being created; whether that’s a friendly conversation with a resident or simply witnessing the genuine connections that flourish here. The strong sense of community and the willingness of residents to get involved make it a really rewarding place to work.

What advice would you give to new residents moving into Glenvale Park?

You should get involved early by attending events, joining the Residents Association or simply reaching out to me with questions. Don’t forget to familiarise yourself with the estate’s services and use the resources available.
