Glenvale Park care home colleague wins top regional award at the Great British Care Awards

Carley Calder, the Home Manager at Glenvale Park care home, overcame close competition to claim The Care Home Registered Manager Award at the regional finals.

The Great British Care Awards honour individuals who have gone the extra mile to help improve the lives of residents within their care.

Judges concluded that Carley stands out as an exceptional leader who truly makes a difference in people’s lives. She inspires through action, arranging initiatives like a charity climb up Snowdon. Carley leads by example, values collaboration and actively listens to diverse perspectives, creating a positive, inclusive environment that empowers her team.

Following her win, Carley will advance on to the national final at the ICC in Birmingham, which will take place next spring.

Carley was delighted to win at the regional final, saying:

It’s amazing! I was so happy just to be nominated but I honestly can’t believe I’ve won! I love doing what I do and it’s wonderful to be recognised by the judges in The Care Home Registered Manager category. I’m just so grateful to everyone who nominated and supported me in getting to this stage. I hope I do the East Midlands proud at the upcoming national finals!

District Manager Laura White added:

This is a wonderful achievement by Carley who fully deserves this recognition of her passion and ability.
